Where Rh(acac)₃ is used
Hydroformylation catalyst precursor
Charged with phosphine or phosphite ligands under syngas it generates active oxo catalysts, offering a halide-free alternative to chloride-based precursors in aldehyde manufacture.
CVD and nanoparticle rhodium
Its volatility and clean thermal decomposition suit rhodium film growth and supported Rh nanoparticle synthesis for catalysis and electronics research.
Chloride-free catalyst manufacture
Used to impregnate Rh onto oxide and carbon supports where residual chloride would poison the catalyst or corrode process equipment.
Storage and shipping
Storage. Store sealed, cool and dry; air-stable.
Shipping. Ships by commercial courier with SDS.

Frequently asked questions
Synthesis or sublimed grade?
Solution catalysis runs fine on synthesis grade; CVD and deposition users should take sublimed grade, where volatile residues and base metals are controlled for reproducible film growth.
How is pricing structured?
Rhodium is the most volatile-priced PGM. Every quote states its fixing reference and validity window; we recommend locking the metal leg the day you confirm the order rather than the day you pay.
What documentation is included?
Every lot ships with a certificate of analysis stating assayed metal content, plus an English SDS. ICP trace-metal panels are available on request.
Do you take back spent material?
Yes — residues, spent catalyst and off-spec lots are assayed on receipt and the recovered rhodium credited against your next order.
