Tetraamminepalladium(II) nitrite

CAS 13601-08-6

Tetraamminepalladium nitrite is the halide-free cationic palladium source for chloride-sensitive plating and catalyst manufacture — the ammine chemistry behind uniform Pd deposition on supports and electronic substrates.

Applications

Where [Pd(NH₃)₄](NO₂)₂ is used

Chloride-free catalyst impregnation

The cationic tetraammine ion-exchanges onto zeolites and acidic oxide supports, producing highly dispersed palladium without chloride residues that sinter metal during calcination.

Palladium plating chemistry

Used in ammine-based electrolytes for Pd and Pd-alloy deposits on connectors and semiconductor packages where halide-free bath chemistry is specified.

Precursor to palladium ammine complexes

A defined Pd(II) tetraammine source for coordination chemistry and for preparing mixed-ligand palladium species.

Handling & logistics

Storage and shipping

Storage. Store sealed, cool and dry, away from acids and reducing agents; nitrite-containing salt.

Shipping. Ships with SDS; transport classification confirmed per pack size due to nitrite content.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Nitrite or sulfate tetraammine salt?

Both are halide-free cationic Pd(II) sources. The nitrite is favoured in catalyst impregnation for its clean decomposition; the sulfate (CAS 13601-06-4, also stocked) is the common plating-bath salt. Tell us the application and we will quote the right one.

How is pricing structured?

Quotes reference the day's palladium fixing on assayed contained metal plus a stated conversion charge, lockable at order confirmation.

What documentation is included?

Every lot ships with a certificate of analysis stating assayed metal content, plus an English SDS. ICP trace-metal panels are available on request.

Do you take back spent material?

Yes — residues, spent catalyst and off-spec lots are assayed on receipt and the recovered palladium credited against your next order.
